Harper is a softly voluminous trouser with a paperbag waistband, elasticated back and front drawstring. Made from a single main pattern piece with no side seams, it is finished with pintucks near the ankles and adjustable hem ties for a gently billowed shape.

Stable 115–150 gsm fabrics such as cotton poplin or linen. For a softer version: Tencel, linen/Tencel or viscose.

A few small pieces of lightweight fusible interfacing to reinforce the buttonholes (the openings for the drawstring)
A 9 mm wide flat elastic, cut to half your waist measurement
