Checks for spring layering

A fresh mix of cotton and linen checks for the change into spring — cool greens and blue-greens alongside warmer browns and soft earthy tones. I liked the variation in scale too, from tiny checks through to much bolder plaids.
They have enough substance for layering while the weather is still changeable, without feeling too wintry. I’m picturing oversized shirts, full skirts and dresses with plenty of volume.

Made for easy spring shapes
These are the kinds of fabrics I want to sew into generous, wearable pieces — oversized shirts, full skirts and dresses with movement. The cotton and linen blend has enough body to hold those shapes nicely, while still feeling light enough for the warmer months ahead.

Checks for the change of season

Three bold checks from Merchant & Mills, chosen for that in-between time of year.
I loved the scale of these checks, and especially the warmth the brown brings to the palette. Sorbet Melt adds a hit of colour, while Frankie and Log Cabin keep things earthy and easy to wear.
