The back waist has a relaxed elastic detail, making the trousers more comfortable and easier to fit. Either variation can be sewn with or without the decorative topstitchings.

Pomona Pants + Shorts by Anna Allen
$23.50 – $41.50The Pomona Pants + Shorts are elastic waist, high rise and loose fitting. They feature no side seams and include patch pockets on the front or back. The waistband is created by folding over the top edge of the pants, which eliminates the extra bulk you would get from a separate waistband seam. View A is a wide leg, ankle length sailor pant with one patch pocket on the back. View B is a loose tapered leg, ankle length pant, also with one patch pocket on the back. View C is the companion shorts to view A, with a 5” inseam and has two patch pockets on the front. This design was drafted for woven non-stretch fabrics.

$23.50 – $41.50The Persephone Pants + Shorts pattern is based on photographs of men’s 1920s-’40s US Navy sailor pants. This is a high waist pants and shorts PDF sewing pattern. These pants are unique in that they do not contain side seams. The front and back pant legs are cut from one piece. It has a concealed button fly, front waist in-seam pockets, belt loops, and two back waist shaping darts. View A: Cropped length pants + View B: Cut-off shorts. Intended to be made with woven non-stretch fabrics, however 3%-5% stretch woven fabrics can also be used.

Helene Selvedge Jeans by Anna Allen
$26.50 – $62.50The Helene selvedge jeans are a traditional high waist non-stretch jeans pattern and is available in two separate size ranges: 00-22 (hip 34”-51”) and 14-32 (hip 43”-61”). This pattern is based on heritage denim jeans from the 1930’s-1960’s. It has traditional 5 pocket styling including two front scoop pockets, a coin pocket inside the right front pocket, and two pointed patch pockets on the back. It also features slight hip shaping while keeping the side selvedge seams unaltered from hip to hem. It has a V-shaped back yoke and a traditional straight waistband with belt loops. The instructions include how to install a concealed button fly and a zipper fly. The leg styles included in this pattern are as follows: View A – Straight, View B – Slim Straight, View C – Wide, and View D – Shorts. Inseam length options include: 28”, 30”, 32”, 34” and 3.5”, 5.5” shorts. This pattern is drafted for non-stretch denim.
