The Day Tote is an elevated everyday bag with a roomy interior, structured side and base panels and four useful pockets, including a larger pocket suited to a laptop or books.

Decorative piping adds both structure and a chance to introduce contrast, while two handle lengths make it practical to carry. It is designed as an approachable bag-making project with a clean, useful finish.

Recommended fabric
Main Fabric: We recommend choosing a sturdy fabric for your main fabric. Suitable fabrics include cotton canvas or waxed cotton with a weight of around 9-13OZ / 300-450GSM. Lining: We recommend choosing a relatively sturdy lining to help give the bag shape - cotton canvas is a good option with a weight of around 7-10OZ / 250-350GSM. Your lining will be very visible when using the bag so choose a colour that compliments the main fabric. Piping: A mid/light weight cotton or linen is recommended for the piping to help reduce the bulky seam allowances. You can also think about introducing a pop of colour through your piping choice!
